A bird’s-eye view of Amsterdam, showing the co-centric canals. For those literary fans at home, Albert Camus’s The Fall (or La Chute as it is called in the original French) takes place in Amsterdam. Camus likens Amsterdam’s system of canals to Dante’s circles of Hell. Now, I wouldn’t go that far!
